The Gold Coast boasts many great parks and playgrounds where you can get out and enjoy the fresh air, while the kids have fun and burn off some energy … for free!

Palm Beach Parklands
This is one fo the best and most popular parks on the Gold Coast … and it just happens to be on our doorstep! Just steps from your from door at Currumbin Sands on the Beach you’ll find this beautiful open space that overlooks Palm Beach. The large grassy area is great for ball games, picnics and BBQs or throwing a frisbee around with family and friends. There’s also wide pathways that are great for walking, jogging and cycling. But best of all, is the pirate-themed play equipment for the kids! Treasure Island Playground provides imaginative play and fun for kids of all ages. ‘Wrecked’ against a rocky outcrop, your little explorers can pretend to be pirates with spinner and rockers, planks to walk, slides, musical play and other great treasures to discover. The playground is also shaded by a pirate ship sail. Pack a picnic from your self-contained apartment with fully equipped kitchen at Currumbin Sands, and head over to the park for a morning or a day with the family. In the warmer months, it’s just metres from the park to the water with easy access to the surf beach.
Dune Cafe is also located within the vicinity open for breakfast and coffee from 7:30am and also serving lunch.

Laguna Park, Palm Beach
Located on Laguna Avenue in Palm Beach, this picturesque lakeside park is fully fenced and well located for a family outing or catch up with friends. There is a play space for all ages with a huge adventure playground, pirate ship, slides and rockers, and a fun power pedal monorail. There’s plenty of parking available, a Liberty Swing for children in wheelchairs, BBQ facilities, Picnic area and more. Grab some snags and head out for a picnic in the park!

Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta
If you’re thinking of spending a few hours in Coolangatta, maybe lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants, a movie or some time at the beach, then Queen Elizabeth Park will provide the perfect opportunity for the kids to unleash some energy between activities. The park is located on the foreshore just across from the cafe strip and only metres from the golden sands of Coolangatta beach and is equipped with standard playground equipment such as swings, slides and climbing structures. There’s also heaps of grassy areas for games and picnic tables so you can bring your own lunch or grab some fish and chips to enjoy overlooking the ocean.
The location is also home to the Coolangatta Art & Craft Markets which happen every second Sunday of the month, and also on the fourth Sunday in 5 week months.

Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach
The newly improved All Abilities Playground at Kurrawa Park in Broadbeach is a popular destination for families with kids of all ages. The playground features three zones; sandcastle, undersea and hill, all three are connected via pathways and interactive community art projects. There’s loads of imaginative play and fun to be had with swings, giant slides, swinging nets, a flying fox, sand play and much more! The playground is located on the foreshore of Broadbeach and is fully fenced. It’s just a short walk into the main shopping and dining precinct.
On the first and third Sunday of each month the Broadbeach Art & Craft Market is held in Kurrawa Park opposite Oasis Shopping Centre.
