If you’re staying with us on the weekend of May 13-14, why not head along to ‘the alley’ at Currumbin beach and watch the action in the waves for the Queensland Championship Circuit – Alley Classic.
The event was launched almost 20 years ago and has since enjoyed a reputation as on of Australia’s premier open men’s shortboard event series.
In edition to the prize purse of $2,000 competitors will be competing for the best three-of-three results, the series’ winner will earn the chance to compete against the world’s best surfers at the 2017 WSL World Championship Tour Quiksilver Pro Trials at Snapper Rocks.
The QCC Alley Classic is event 1 of 3 during the series. The subsequent events are the Sunshine Coast Pro on May 27-28 and the Kirra MP Classic on June 24-25.
Visitors staying from the 24th to 25th of June can catch the last event of the series at the MP Classic at Kirra Beach on the Gold Coast.
